Things I've been doing on the internet
I’m a bit late to join the TC bandwagon and I think people have angrily jumped off it, frustrated with the quality of posts. It sometimes seems like the purpose of TC is to churn out as many posts they can each day rather than focus on quality. However, that doesn’t mean the articles/essays on TC are crap. The majority of them can be mediocre, entertaining enough to sustain your attention and make you chuckle internally. The rest are either really good because they’re insightful and witty, or terrible because they lack a point. I know TC is not the pinnacle great writing so if anyone has recommendations of other online publications similar/better than TC, please leave a comment!

Using Spotify
I’ve been using Spotify at work, which has been great because it means I don’t have to clog up my work computer with .mp3 files. Spotify can compile a genre or artist specific playlist for you to enjoy so it’s great for discovering new artists. I’ve been listening to lots of Childish Gambino and just discovered Wale (Yes, I’m going through a rap phase) through the 'Rap' playlist. I’m still figuring out what else Spotify can be used for. I’m looking into the playlist function so I can make a digital mixed tape for Liam (saaaa romantic). I’m also thinking of incorporating the playlist into some future blog posts, but we’ll see. I’m concerned the posts might be too self-indulgent and vacuous, but I’ll work on that. At the moment I'm just using the free version of Spotify. It has a few ads but oddly it doesn't bother me very much. I suppose the only criticisms I have about Spotify is you can't listen to one song on repeat (if such a function exists, please direct me there) and their database of artists, while huge, doesn't have everything. I was looking for Lupe Fiasco's band Japanese Cartoon on Spotify and couldn't find them.

hitRECord
hitRECord is an online open collaboration site where you can contribute your own work (film, music, writing – anything creative!) and collaborate with other artists to turn their/your creative works into something incredible. I haven’t collaborated at that level yet because I sadly have no time to do it, but I’ve started posting a few things on my page (like my paper crane video). At the moment I’m just using it as a space to exhibit a bunch of my own “work”. What I like about it is it’s a space to contribute anything creative – video, music, art, writing etc. I’d like to see my account as an online work-in-progress portfolio. Oh and did I mention hitRECord is the baby of Joseph Gordon-Levitt?

Teen crush flash back
Yerrrrr, you know you want to share yours too!
1) Billy Martin, guitarist for Good Charlotte

When I was 16 I went through a bit of a pop punk phase. Good Charlotte had just released "Predictable" and I "fell in love" with this lanky, tattooed guy who looked crazy good in eyeliner. Things I did to sate this infatuation ranged from filling up my Billy Martin photo folder (which I would browse daily), to making a website in IT class dedicated to him. I AM SO EMBARRASSING. I set my website background to a very wobbly "I love Billy Martin" banner done in Paint. It is safe to say I was psychotic. I started to dress the way I think "punks" dressed like: rock tee, pleated skirt, leggings, converses studded with "fuck you" badges and whatnot. So Jay Jays, right? Check out the video to "I just wanna live". Billy is the one in the strawberry costume. LOVE IT.
2) Clay Aiken, American Idol 2 runner up

And you thought you liked nerdy guys! This guy will knock Seth Cohen and Michael Cera off the nerd list. And I mean that in the most endearing way. Clay still has a soft spot in my heart. Back in the day, Channel ten were airing American Idol 3 on TV and I was super into it because Australia had just successfully screened their first season of Idol. Everyone was eager for an Idol fix before the second season so this screening was a godsend. I was happily minding my own business one evening before dinner and BAM! Clay Aiken was all over my TV and I decided at that moment, I was "in love" with him. You know what else I did? I recorded every episode of American Idol 3 with Clay Aiken on it. I don't know where that tape is now, but thank fuck for youtube. I thought Clay was the hottest thing in the world. And that voice! I wanted him to serenade me to sleep. I contemplated asking my relatives in the US to buy me his album and send it over here because I wanted to support him and not illegally download his music. I decked out my diary with photos of him EVERYWHERE. Each week, there was a new photo of Clay to make me smile. And yes, I contacted every photo so the ink wouldn't smudge if it got wet. I AM SUCH A DORK.
3) Jared Leto, Actor and Singer for 30 Seconds to Mars

Yes people, you are very welcome. OK I have to admit, by this stage I was about 17, going on 18, so a bit older but still stupid and easily infatuated. I had started progressing to other bands by this stage (my Billy Martin phase was starting to wane). I was watching Video Hits (remember that show?) and I saw the video for The Kill. Naturally, I thought any guy with a floppy fringe and eye liner was a babe bomb so I had to look up this band. I genuinely really like 30 Seconds to Mars and so that was all I listened to and solo moshed to. That's when you pretend you're in a mosh pit in your room. There's usually no one there to judge you, but people do walk in/you fall over and twist your ankle. Then I started watching all the films he's been in, like American Psycho and Lord of War, and just thought he could do no wrong, although some of his recent hairstyles have been questionable but whatever. He's also starred in this TV show called My So-Called Life (which I need to get my hands on).
4) Cillian Murphy, amazeballs Irish actor

So... by this stage I was officially 18 and my tastes have matured. I was also easily swept away by suave badasses. I thought Cillian Murphy's Dr. Jonathan Crane in Batman Begins had it all: he had the nerd factor written all over him, exceptional blue eyes, and was just ... bad. Then in Red Eye he was all flirtatious with Rachel McAdams but he psychotically knocked out RM by headbutting her, then swiftly wiping away the trickle of blood slowly running down his forehead (which was perfectly framed by his luscious hair). Then he was in Inception (which was why I saw that film) and I felt let down because Cillian Murphy is such a good actor and the character he played was so blah and same with Ken Watanabe (but that's another discussion). Anyway, I heard this guy speak with his native accent and it was just, for lack of a better phrase, a "panty dropper".
OK, this list could go on forever, and maybe I'll do a part two or whatever, but I have to remove myself from the internet. In the meantime, who did you hopelessly crush on at 16+?

Week/month in review
So I'll write a list. Maybe that will be cathartic.
- I'm going to Cambodia in late April early May. It was kind of a spur of the moment decision. Liam's sister-in-law, Al, is Cambodian, and her sister is marrying a mega rich fella over there. Naturally, they're throwing an excessive wedding that lasts for several days. The bride-to-be said Al could bring as many family members as she wanted. I didn't think I would be invited since Liam and I aren't marry, so I'm technically not family. However, Al, really wants me to go and I think it would be great fun to experience Cambodia with Al. Plus, Liam won't be going because he can't get time off work, which is a bummer. But, in a way this is good for me. I think it's a good way for me to learn how to travel "alone", even though I'll be with Al, Liam's brother and Liam's parents.
- I've applied to be a volunteer reviewer for The Pun during Melbourne International Comedy Festival season. Fingers crossed my application is good enough! I've been going every year since I was 17 and it's just the best fun. I've been to see David O Doherty like every year for three years because I love that guy so much, met him twice (the first time I attacked him on the street for a photo. In hindsight that probably wasn't the best thing to do). I've also been to see Tripod, The Umbilical Brothers, the MICF Gala, Ed Byrne (I wish he was coming this year too), Jimeoin and Frank Woodley. I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them right now. This year I'm thinking about seeing Mark Watson, David O Doherty's new character comedy, and a couple of emerging comedy acts.
- Liam's family dog died on Monday. It was so sad and such a shock because we were at his parents' place over the weekend and she seemed fine. She was such a friendly dog too.
- I've been super into acappella groups. There are some really great ones on youtube. Most of the groups seem to cover Adele's Rolling in the Deep. I don't think that's the best song to show off one's mad arrangement skillz and you don't really get a sense they're working in a team together because there's always someone who thinks they are Adele. There's a show in the US called The Sing Off and it's like an Idol-style show for acappella groups and it's just... Ted's hair*.
- My dad returned Mr. Turtle to the wild. I keep picturing Mr. Turtle slowly waddling into the water, then pausing and turning around to see my dad. My dad waves, and the turtle nods; he continues to enter the lake until you can't see him no more. I'm sure that's exactly not what happened.
- I've started watching a lot of UK TV shows: The Inbetweeners, Sherlock and Downton Abbey. The Inbetweeners is all right. I watch it to pass the time really, but Sherlock and Downton Abbey are so bloody amazing!
- Liam and I have decided to start a book club between the two of us. The book we are reading is Simone de Beauvoir The Second Sex. We want to go to this talk about de Beauvoir's theories and we thought it might be good to actually read some of her stuff. We're meeting up next week to discuss the first chapter. Fun!
- I've been really into gardening lately. I like making things grow. I've got some sunflowers growing in some pots, but I don't think they will flower this summer because I planted them too late. The strawberries have been doing well, but again, these will be the last fruits.
- I'm really into mustard at the moment. Not the sauce, although I also love the sauce. I bought a mustard mullet shirt a few weeks ago. I don't really know what to do with the whole mullet trend since it's so clearly not going to last, but I've been wearing it tucked into high-waisted shorts so it makes it ok. I've also bought mustard stockings. All I need now is a black dress!
- I cut my fringe. I now resemble an Asian Ruby Rose circa 2007. Except I wear glasses and I don't look anything like Ruby Rose. I did it myself, thanks to a few handy youtube tutorials. I think it turned out OK.
*Ted's hair = stupid, lame and awesome. All you How I Met Your Mother fans will get this reference.
What's everyone else been doing these couple of weeks? Do you watch Downton Abbey or Sherlock?

Digging
Books
Pride and Prejudice
I've been reading this one for a few weeks because I'm a really slow reader and I only read when I'm on the bus. I finished this one yesterday. I have to say, I was under the impression that Jane Austen is really difficult to read, but this one was relatively easy. I have to say that while I enjoyed the general plot of Pride and Prejudice, I don't find Jane Austen's prose all that "agreeable". I think I prefer Charlotte Bronte, eventhough I haven't really finished reading Jane Eyre because it's a fucking brick. But when I do have to sift through certain passages in Jane Eyre, some of the dialogue between Jane and Rochester are the most beautiful and heartbreaking words I've ever read. Anyway, back to Pride and Prejudice: I really enjoyed it and I'm keen on watching the 1995 TV show with Colin Firth as Darcy. The only thing that confuses me is the whole issue with Lydia and Wickham. I still don't quite get why they got hitched other than that they might have banged heaps before they got married. In general I find it quite awful that she's been "tarnished" in the eyes of society because of something like this, however she's so annoying part of me thinks she deserves this.
Tumblrs
My colleague Eirene and I have debated about our attitudes towards Tumblrs and we've come to the same conclusions: we generally despise the ones that gain popularity by reblogging awesome photos. Why should they be this "popular" entity on the internet when they put no effort into making this photo awesome.
With that said, I do have Tumblrs I love. Most of them feature awesome animals.
Dear Girls Above Me
So there's this guy in the United States called Charlie who lives in an apartment with his awesome pug. There are two girls called Cathy and Claire that live in the apartment above him. And Charlie can hear EVERYTHING they do and say. And it's fucking hilarious. I literally finished reading every entry on this site. My friend Hadders and I were quoting our favourite ones on each other's facebook walls. It was an epic day.
Animals Talking in Caps
There's this guy on the internet who finds awesome animal photos and adds captions to them. Here is one of my recent favourites:
Hey Girl!
Teaching is Hard. You're doing a great job. Someone has finished the internet by finding every imaginable photo of Ryan Gosling and adding captions that tell teachers they're doing a great job. They've started adding other celebrities into the mix. It's really funny. My boyfriend is a teacher so I like to remind him that Ryan Gosling is there for him.

TV Shows
I watch so much TV. This is only a smidge of what I actually watch.
Luther
My boyfriend and his housemates have been hooked on this show. I decided to watch it too and I finished it in two days. Yes, I'll admit, there are only ten episodes all together, but each episode is like over an hour long so it's a big deal. Luther is about British detective John Luther who will do anything to catch the bad guys . There's a bit of profiling going on, and some fucked up murders. Holy shit there are some fucked up murders on that show. And he befriends a psychotic red head that looks a bit like Emma Stone. I found the show a little difficult to get into at first because there was so much happening that in first episode: you find out about Luther's personal life, what he did a month ago, who's out to get him etc. It was really overwhelming but it gets better.
Portlandia
If you are an avid Saturday Night Live patron, you might recognise Fred Armisen. If you like Sleater-Kinney, you might recognise Carrie Brownstein. These two have teamed up together to create sketch show about the many people that live in Portland. It's really quite funny and weird. They make fun of feminist book store owners, hipsters and dumpster divers. I just love it. This is one of my favourite sketches.
Pretty Little Liars
OK so this isn't the best show in world. In fact if I was at a job interview and I was being judged on what kind of show I watched, I probably wouldn't admit that I even know this show exists. This is a pure guilty pleasure. Four best friends are being blackmailed by the mysterious "A", straight after their friend's death. They try to juggle school, boys, family and death threats all while looking absolutely gorgeous. It's a bit like Gossip Girl meets a crime show, but without all the glamor. But at least these four look like they might be 17.
OK so this is probably the worst trailer ever made, especially with that over the top voice over. But I swear the show is a lot better than what this trailer offers. Plus, their clothes are WAAAAY cooler now. Just watch it so I have a friend to talk to about it.
So what are y'all digging at the moment?

Don't nobody call me a tonkle
Shoes
You know, I'm getting really irritated with flat shoes at the moment. I can't stand them for some reason. Moccasins are OK, as are loafers and sandals. But your genuine flat shoe that you wear with everything because it's so damn comfortable and versatile? I don't want to wear them ever again.
I realised this when I came back from America. I was searching for my flat shoes to wear in general but I couldn't find them anywhere so I opted for my brown Kurt Geiger boots, my Sportsgirl sandals and whatever else is left in between. I started thinking about the humble flat shoe and I've officially become a hater.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy comfort and I have worn flats these couple of days due to taking too long getting ready for work and finding flats are the easiest and quickest to put on (no laces).
But they're so tame. They're like this nothing shoe that's probably not even that good for your feet if you think about it. Some flats could be considered too flat. I know my foot has a high arch. I'm sure wearing shoes that are too flat can be bad for my feet. Plus the blisters, not to mention the dislodged cartilage at the back of your foot. And the sweat and smell from not wearing socks.
Perhaps I'm just sifting for things to hate about flats. I just think boots, brogues, sandals, heels and everything in between looks so much cooler and some of these shoes are also tolerable for everyday wear. My Kurt Geiger boots are actually a good height, as are my Aldo boots.
Hair
I've been pretty fascinated with the whole tie dye hair trend that seems to be captivating some trendy blonde lasses. There's even a wonderful tutorial by Geneva over at A Pair and a Spare for brunettes wanting some blonde ends (BTW Geneva does some really funky DIY projects on her blog. Totally worth checking out). I used to have purple ends on my hair but it was me going through my faux punk phase. This time around, the whole bleached ends thing looks a lot more rustic. Kinda like just dipping your hair in some bleach. The fancier kids make it look like their hair is gradually becoming lighter.
Here are some photos for inspiration. I'm seriously considering doing this and then dying the ends purple. I think I need to think about this for a few days.

Here's also a really cute video on dip dying hair. The comments are just rude.
Christmas Presents
I often find Christmas time to be the most expensive time of the year because you all of a sudden have about a gazillion friends you need to buy a present for. If you have 10 friends to buy gifts for, even just spending $20 on each friend will set you back $200. Then there's the issue of boyfriends/girlfriends, parents, siblings, the inlaws, cousins, colleagues – whatever – and you could be spending about $500+.
Not many people I know have that kind of money. I think it's great when families do the Kris Kringle thing. I should totally get my family to do this to save some money but I don't know. Last year, I basically got all my friends the same thing: soap. It seemed like a good thing at the time because everything smells amazing. I might do the same thing this year except with necklaces. I saw these gorgeous necklaces shaped like a macaron. I think I'm gonna get all my girlfriends one of those but I don't know about all my guy pals.
What are everyone's plans for Christmas this year? What would be the best gift ever? For me, I'd like a giant wheel of Jarlsberg cheese. Or at least 1kg's worth.
I love Jarlsberg cheese.
SO MUCH.

CANTERE!
I do think it's cruel to suddenly have the blanket pulled from under us. I think I at least need a few days to collect myself (ie. DO NOTHING). I need some time to think about what I want to do with myself and it's really confusing. I don't see myself as doing the one job for the rest of my life. I see myself moving around and making mistakes and being poor for a long time before I can comfortably have my own place to live and own.
It is really the time to start doing the things I wanted to do on my large to do list that I never get around to doing because I'm either too busy or too preoccupied with doing nothing. Here goes the list.
- Read. Because of uni, I don't see reading as an enjoyable activity, which is the biggest shame since I want to read. I want to enjoy reading again. I was really into reading before uni started and now it just seems like the biggest effort to read anything in a book because I've associated it with doing readings for uni. Not anymore. I'm going to read heaps now that I have time. On my list are basically all the books Susie has either given me or loaned me. I should get them out of the way first, along with this awesome Walter Murch book about editing that my friend Liane got me for my birthday.
- Learn Italian. Hence the blog titles are in Italian.
- Get a REAL job. Not a shitty retail job.
- Exercise. Yeah, this is the shittest bit of my list. Who the fuck wants to exercise? Well, I suppose I do, but begrudgingly so. My friends over at People are Just People have started jogging, and while I'm not game enough to launch forth in "running shoes" down my street, their initiative to "getting fit" has spurred me on to do the same.
- Listen to NEW music. Stop hiding behind the classics. Branch out. Go to gigs!
- Buy a 5D or 7D
- Write. I think I've convinced myself that I can't write, and certainly I'm not as good as Susie and Stacey as they read so much and write so much that of course they are wonderful writers. I think paired with reading, I hope to fully slide into the seat of writer and start, well, writing fiction. I was really into writing fiction in primary school and high school. Somewhere along the way I got distracted so I hope to write more AND have people READ what I write for feedback. Maybe I'll submit something into Voiceworks. Who knows.
- Cook, Bake – be awesome with food
- Take more photos.
- Save up enough money to set up my editing studio
- Hang out with friends. I'm terrified we all get high school syndrome as soon as we leave uni. I want to keep in touch with my uni friends. I cherish them so much and it upsets me the most when most of them have to go back home after the semester is over. It upsets me that some of my closest friends at uni have to stay in their country of origin. It's just a huge flaw in our government's immigration laws. But let's not get too serious about this. I want to hang out with my friends more so than I have done in the past.
So this has gotten rather mushy. Pretty much, I want to do a lot of things. A lot of things. Now that uni is over, I have no excuse NOT to do them.

I burn, I pine, I perish!
1) Hyperbole and a Half. This blog is HILARIOUS. You must read for yourself because it's awesome. It's just a lass named Allie who has funny stories and funny drawings. It's awesome.
2) Grab Your Fork. Sydney food blogger Helen eats at an assortment of restaurants: from fine-dining to hawker stalls, Helen appreciates and respects what she eats and always has lovely pictures and descriptions about her gastronomical adventures.
3) What Claudia Wore. If you read the Baby-Sitters club when you were younger you will love this.
I only like these three blogs at the moment, only because I agree with what Stacey said: I am sick of blogs of pretty girls taking pictures of their outfits. That was cool to me when I was 17 but now I'm bored and I want something that's not so vapid.

Sugar spell it out
I feel like making a list now.
Places I want to visit and why:
Canada: Tegan and Sara/Robin Scherbatsky/Poutine/Deep-fried cheese curds. I want to visit Montreal, Vancouver, Ontario and Alberta. I don't know what's there in Ontario or Alberta, but it's mentioned heaps in How I Met Your Mother, and that show is awesome.
San Fransisco: Annabel Ly's blog/food/culture. I follow the blog, Blushing Ambition, where the lovely Annabel indulges us with all the lovely food she eats with her bf and the wonderful clothes she wears. It seems stunning, and I love food. I really want to go there.
Hong Kong: Disney world/authentic yum cha/shopping. My partner and I are in talks of maybe going to Asia again this summer. I think Hong Kong will be awesome because everything is like so cheap, food will be amazing and DISNEY WORLD FUCK YEAH.
Ireland: Guinness/David O Doherty/Cillian Murphy/really green grass. I've always dreamed that Ireland would be the place I flee over to if I ever need to "discover" myself in a foreign country. I have plans to shack up with a sexy, rugged Irish man, and maybe come back home with a pseudo-Irish accent.
Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand/Vietnam: Food/food/food/food. FOOD.
I'm feeling happy today. I feel really good. I don't know why. Maybe it has something to do with having a good night's sleep, and some kind of Tegan and Sara dream. Yes, I am thoroughly obsessed with them. They always circulate around attending one of their gigs and meeting them. This time, Tegan and I discussed Irigaray and Sara said she liked me collar bones. Ha. I wish.
I feel really... productive, even though all I've done is make myself food to eat. I've got a film I will be filming with some lovely ladies, a TV show I'm also filming with another good friend. I've also decided that I want to look into feminist and queer films for honours, and writing a script that will hopefully be made. I may even dabble in directing, who knows. Ah. I feel happy.
AND... I will be a guest on my dear friend Susie's radio show, "Flash in the Pan", tomorrow afternoon at 3pm, SYN on 90.7fm. Seriously, if you're in Melbourne, do check it out. We will be gushing about Masterchef. And I might, just might, sigh over hot men on that show. AND... there will be some food related songs so stay tuned.

Rate my day
So I woke up at 9:30am instead of the 8am I set my alarm for (4/10, annoyed that I've wasted my day, but overall refreshed). I contemplated breakfast, but launched into some vegan cupcake baking while The Circle played in the background (8/10, Yumi Stynes is so cool). The cupcakes come out, with most of them stuck to the tin (2/10, epically annoyed as I did spray the tins with oil).

Yumi Stynes
Then Bel and her sister came over to help with my lolly bags (8/10, excited). Bel and I gossiped about work (2/10, infuriated by my manager's attack on my service skills) while Sam sifted through my hard drive and started watching The IT Crowd (8/10, season three, good laughs). Bel and Sam finish packing the lolly bags while I put the final batch of muffins in the oven (8/10, proud). Bel and Sam go home and I make myself some steamed prawn dumplings and salad (9/10, healthy and tasty). Mum calls, asking me to defrost some food. It's 3pm, I'm nervous because I start work at 4pm. I get a message from work, I start work at 5:30pm instead of 4pm (5/10, relieved I don't have to rush and able to sneak in a shower, annoyed at losing money).

I hop in the shower and find a rash building on my thigh: I've been bitten my some kind of tiny insect (3/10, slightly alarmed, itchy and a bit curious). I get out of the shower, and dress in a hurry: "plaid" shirt (buttoned up to the top), navy woolen vest, purple jeans (homage to Emma Roberts in Wild Child, even though her jeans were pink), and faux tortoise shell glasses (8/10, . felt pleased with my appearance. I also want a bow tie).

Emma Roberts
Head off to work, decided to make macaroons tomorrow (9/10, fucking excited). Start work, I find out it's just me and Matt working (7/10, I like Matt, and I'm so glad I'm not working with authority people). Manager stressed the importance of customer service (4/10, sick and tired of hearing this). Worked (2/1o, bored). Then my partner came to visit me and said hi, showed me the goodies he bought: a vest and shirt for my 21st, and a xbox controller so I can play Tekken 6 with him (10/10, I miss him and I can't wait to play Tekken 6).

I want to play as the panda
Cash up, go home, eat food (7/10), facemail my partner (10/10), watch some IT Crowd (10/10), sitting in bed, cuddling my hot water bottle (10/10).
So that's my day. It's super dull *smiley face*

phwoar!
Guys you would never suspect we want to have sex with but we’d totally do:
• Eddie Izzard in full drag
• Alan Rickman
• Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka
• Steve Buscemi
• Benicio Del Toro
• John C. Reilly
• The deformed guy from Mask because he was nice and also he seems like he’d be really grateful
• Captain Jack Sparrow
• Prince, even though he’s technically smaller than us
• Gary Oldman
• Adrien Brody
• Phillip Seymour Hoffman
• Both of the lead guys on Shawn of the Dead (but not at the same time)
• New Spock
• Schroeder from Peanuts
• Our best male friend at work whom you assume is gay but actually isn’t
• That limpy doctor on House. I think his name is “House”. And his cane.
• David Bowie when he was in Labyrinth
• Will Ferrell
• Paul Rudd
• Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd at the same time while the limpy doctor from House watches
• Your brotherGuys you assume we want to have sex with but actually we totally don’t:
• Tom Cruise
• Fabio
• Ashton Kutcher
• Our second best male friend at work who actually *is* gay but you don’t believe us
• The guy at the gym whose neck is larger than his head and he can’t put his arms down
• That same secretary at my job that you think is hot, and yeah, I know she’s not a dude but I’ve seen you ogle her and trust me, I could tap that. You couldn’t.
• That’s not a dare, by the way.
• Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka
• Your other brotherTaken from mamamia
What do you guys think? For me, yes for:
- Alan Rickman
- Adrien Brody
- Simon Pegg (even sexier in Hot Fuzz)
- Gary Oldman (but only in Harry Potter and Dracula, but without the accent and pre-weird dracula body)
- House (fo sho)
- Benicio del Toro (something about him screams 'beast in the sack')
- David Bowie
I'd also add:
- Chris Noth (not because of Sex and the City, just because he is gorgeous)
- David Tennant (fo sho and scottish accent please)
- Cillian Murphy (irish accent please)
- James McAvoy (scottish accent please)
- Jason Segal
- Pharrel Williams
- Will.I.Am ([fo sho] x 12384784834)
As for the guys I don't want to have sex with:
- Fabio (muscly men ain't my thang)
- Ashton Kutcher (just doesn't interest me)
- Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka (really disturbing. But I'd totally do him if he was Ichabod Crane from Sleepy Hollow)
- Zac Efron (Vanessa Hudgeons is too good for you)
- Taylor Lautner (you were Shark boy)
Wow this list has really turned into an "older men I want to bang" list. Ah. Sorry for the lewdness. Here's a sexy picture of Will.I.Am.

He reminds me of Sean Lennon there. Oh, I totally forgot to add Sean Lennon to my list.

I woke up this morning with a bad hangover and my penis was missing again
I feel like today is a very full on day, but at the same time, if you were an objective observer, you'd think I'm just cruising about on my laptop.
Not true.
First item on the agenda: cleaning. As I have mentioned, Chinese New Year is about having a clean house, going to temple to burn some incense and pray to Chinese deities that 2010, the year of the Tiger will be a prosperous year. I'm born in the year of the Snake and mum insists that this year is very going to be important so I must pay respects at the temple. That's fine. I'm not bothered. Whatever makes mum happy. However, I'm not too impressed with the cleaning I have to do. I've only done half and I still have the bathroom floors to clean plus heaps of wiping and spraying downstairs. Note to self: Don't buy a big house in the future; it just means more cleaning.
Second item on the agenda: uni electives. I found out this morning that I am unable to do my screenwriting elective because it requires a prerequisite. This annoys me. The website is really terrible at the moment. I tried to search for 'more info' and it amounted to nothing. I took a risk and went with it. I only found out today that I couldn't do it. Lame. So I did a search for more electives and all the other ones I wanted to do were either full or required more prerequisites. Again, lame. So I ended up selecting a documentary studies subject that all the cinema students did last semester. I figured I'd do this one since I want to make documentaries. So lucky I sorted that out.
Third item on the agenda: Saturday's shoot. I'm involved in a film shoot called Bonnie. It's a short film written by this wonderful woman called Elga. We've been working together, trying to get the casting right for the past week now and today she called me to inform me that our DOP, who is a media professional, has dropped out of our shoot. I'm very shocked and annoyed by this. Now, our gaffer is the DOP.
Fourth item on the agenda: Time tabling. Twice a year, before each semester starts, there's always heavy competition between students vying for the best tutes. I don't think I have ever gotten my desired timetable before. There are just heaps of students who do it better. Kudos to them, too, because it's ruthless. Anyway, if I get things my way, my Thursday time table will be chock full: one screening, two lectures and two tutes. I'm trying to minimise the amount of trips I have to make to uni.
Lame.

Nobody Nobody Nobody Nobody
I am so stoked about Saturday. I get to catch up with my dear pal Susie. We're going to the Hello Sailor Vintage Fair on Saturday and It's the first time I'm going. Every time it's on, I've got work or some other commitment. I've got two things I want to buy, and knowing my luck, I won't be buying either item.
Here's my list (it's very short):
- a tanned, distressed leather hand bag
- a blazer that's not too short and fits well
I also wouldn't mind finding some kind of faux fur coat, something obviously faux fur like a pale pink leopard print coat. For the past two years, I've been wearing the same black coat every winter. I hope to have a few more options this winter.
Anyway, part two of my Singapore trip!
Me at a Thai restaurant that is also a German microbrewery. Check out that awesomeness
Some sort of deicious grilled fish my partner ordered with heavenly seafood sauce.
The cockles my friend Joyce ordered
The staff at the restaurant dancing to The Wonder Girls' "Nobody"
Afterwards, we went out for more food a nd booze. This is an oyster omelette. I'm not a fan of oysters but this was fucking awesome, especially with the sauce.
Delicious Hokkien noodles... so fucking good.
otak otak
Stingray, surprisingly good. Tastes like flake.
Teh Tarik
Me outside the massive Chanel store. I am so lame
Delicious Indian food
A lovely Dorsai, SO GOOD
GOOBER JAM!
Best beef kway teow ever, eaten at Geylang Rd, the red light district of Singapore.
My friend Joyce at a boutique on Haji Lane, where a little 5 month old shih tzu cross puppy lived. His name is Ah- Tai, which means stoner. He's so cute and playful.
Here he is with me. Yes, he tongued me many times. It wasn't really consensual...
Don't tell my partner...
Tail-less parrot fish at another boutique. The store owner just adored them He said they were very peaceful fish and that they looked like they were smiling.
THEY HAVE NO TAILS! Apparently they are bred to have no tails, but then I read somewhere that the tails are cut off. I do not know any more.
These babies were $179. The are beautiful. This photo does it no justice. The heel is GOLD. I wish I bought them. I so could have. *sobs*

Slug
Anyway, I've decided that I should at least work in a few sessions at the gym when I get to Singapore. There's a gym at the hotel and it's a pretty decent one too so I should take advantage of it when I am not shopping, not eating or not hanging out with people. That way, I can keep in shape and because it's free (ish), I might feel compelled to use it as much as possible.
I think that's fair. I think I will do that.
Here is my "itinerary" for my first day at Singapore:
- Land in Singapore
- Take the shuttle bus or the MRT to the hotel room
- Check in
- Book an appointment for a hair cut
- Depending on my hunger, either go shopping or eat
- find Topshop
- Explore Wisma Atria, Far East Plaza, Ngee Ann City, The Hereen, Orchard Shopping Centre
- Get postcards at Singapore's visitors centre (depends if they do postcards)
- Go back to the hotel
- Change into "gym" wear
- Go exercise for an hour or more
- Go shower
- Blog about my day/Topshop
I like my list. This is going to be awesome.

Salami
I will be going to Singapore and Malaysia in January and I am so psyched about it. I'm sort of going by myself. I'm flying by myself, which will be a first for me. But I will be going to Malaysia with my partner for a bit of fun there. I have a dear friend whose mother and father own a Swiss restaurant in Penang called Edelweiss. Both my partner and I are eager to visit there, although I'm slightly unsure of what I can possibly eat there because I don't eat pork, and from what I can see from the restaurant menu, almost everything has pork in it. But other than that, I'm so stoked about it.
I've spent the whole day pretty much googling all the places to shop and Im just really excited. There's the famous Orchard shopping centre and Orchard Central. Absolutely intense layers of hard core shopping. I've also been notified that the Far East Plaza is a good place to find awesme and unique bargains, so I'm definitely up for that. Though I have to admit, 25% of why I want to go to Singapore is because of Topshop. In Australia, we've been denied the awesomeness that is Topshop, possibly because it will challenge and evetually invade Sportsgirl's business.
Therefore, I've decided that as soon as I check into my hotel, I will be wondering around on Orchard Road and visiting the famous Topshop. I'm also thinking about getting my hair cut too. I'll be meeting up with my partner later in the night so hopefully a GOOD haircut might surprise him.
So here's the plan:
- Check in
- Find Topshop
- Get a haircut
- Eat something amazing
Ahhh. That's right. Eating.
I've been looking at all these websites, telling me where I should eat etc, and honestly, I don't think I am staying in town long enough to eat everything. There are, however, some dishes I really must try out:
- Chilli crab
- Indian Mee goreng
- This chicken burger that is crusted with hazelnuts, and has a coffee-infused mayo
- Any kind of delicious dessert
I found a blog called Grab Your Fork and the lass who writes the blogs went on a trip to Singapore, sampling all sorts of deliciousness. It's simply wonderful and I really recommend you read it. I just love re-reading everything she's documented. It's awesome! Do check it out.
So reading everything has really put me in a good mood. I want to go to Singapore ASAP. It actually inspired me to make roti canai, although I just made the curry sauce, not the roti. I'm not a genius. There are no photos because I am too ashamed of what I made. I simply cannon bring myself to call what I made roti canai, despite its deliciousness.
Anyway, I feel like I should make some kind of itinerary for myself to follow. I will be mostly alone and I hope I will be able to find some of my Singaporean friends once I get there.
Oh man I am so excited!
