This is weighty

Earlier this year, I succumbed to the burgundy denim trend. One of the girls at work bought a pair, probably being half ironic or whatever, but damn they looked good on her, so naturally I had to try them out. They did indeed rock. Except, I had to get them in a size 14 because I couldn’t get my legs into the size 12s. I didn’t care: whatever fits, is my motto. And if things look terrible on, hey, I save money.

Fast forward about three months and I’ve started to exercise so I’d look nice in Thailand or something vain like that. Plus diabetes scares me and I didn’t like how my waist sat snugly at 80cm. So I managed to lose weight and blah blah blah, and my burgundy jeans didn’t fit any more. I went back to try on another pair of these jeans from the same store and dudes, I am proud to say, I fit into the size 10 burgundy jeans. HUZZUH!

The thing is though, when I look at myself in the mirror, I don’t think I look all that different. And then it baffles me that I can fit into, say, a size 10 pair of shorts.

Anyway, that’s enough talk about weight! My wonderful purchases from ASOS came in the mail ages ago. I love them both but lord that faux fur leopard print jacket moults like CRAZY. Liam and I went out to dinner for my friend’s birthday and his car and the arm of his jacket was covered in faux fur. As for the dress, it’s wonderful but I bought it a size too big so I had to wear it with a belt so I didn’t look preggers.

Speaking of preggers, I can’t believe Hilary Duff is pregnant! Congrats to her and her husband Mike. Ha, I’m talking like Hilary and I are tight friends. It’s always been a dream of mine. She just seems like a really nice person. I also wish Daniel Radcliffe and I were best friends. That would be the dream.

Anyway, because of all this online shopping, I’ve imposed a one-month ban on shopping altogether because I have to save up for a while, partly because they’ve cut my shifts at work due to a new 2IC, and I’m eyeing a particularly pretty pair of Jeffrey Campbells and I just need them, like, right now. I’ve decided to sell some of my clothes on ebay, just because I don’t wear them anymore. I should really list them soon, but my god the internet connection at my place has been absolute shit.

Ergh, anyway, enough talking. Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks.

I made macarons! But they didn't taste spectacular. They looked pretty though!

Me with my pals Karmen and Joanne. That's my ASOS dress. We stayed at Crown Towers one night. Has anyone EVER been there? Because they have some AMAZING rooms. They're bathrooms are so pimped out! There's a TV in there and everything. REALLY COOL.

Me being silly with Liam. We were at a cocktail party and my feet were hurting A LOT so I had to sit down. And then I had to take some silly pictures with Liam because we rarely get to be photographically lame together.

Actually, I have a funny story about the morning after but I don't know if it's something that should be writing about on my blog. But basically we - us three girls and their two boyfriends - stayed in the same room, and some of us shared the same bed. Well, the next morning, uh, one of my friend's boyfriends had mistaken me for their girlfriend and tried to wake me up in, er, an 'affectionate' manner.

Awkward.
